More apt to make the powder stick in a powder measure than ignite it. Been loading for 40+ years and I've never heard of static electricity igniting smokeless powder. While not to be treated carelessly, smokeless powder will not explode. It will BURN vigerously, but only black powder is explosive.

Static setting off black powder is an old wives tale that has been completely disproved. There is a video out there with a ton of experiments trying to get black powder to ignite using static and piezoelectric spark. I am well aware of the vast number of hazards involved in the making of black powder. Ranging from, but not limited to, heat, open flames, static electricity even percussion. I will not be doing this in large quantities. A 1/4 of a pound to begin with would be a good starting point. I realize powder mills of the past had a very high accident rate.
